Literature Text

Those little things we overlook;
Taken for granted, that one sweet look.
He smiles softly with those blue eyes
Looks at me, says his goodbyes.
It will be like always. . .
Those satin memories.
He just won’t kiss
With those same blue seas.
The twinkle is now in a different light.
I just walk away, don’t put up a fight.
I go through the motions of life each day.
Not really living my life my way.
I don’t know how to care the way he wants me to.
But how was I supposed to know and now what will I do?
Just sit and sulk the year away?
He has that power.
Damn him!
I will forever be kept in his cage of love.
This was written after a fight I had with my husband.

You captured that feeling a little too perfectly. Sigh...
